The Directors of West Dorset Leisure Holidays are of the belief that the Company has a duty of care to the environment. Everyone involved in the Company is committed to a policy of environmental protection and accept their responsibility to provide by whatever means they can to promote environmental best practice. Good environmental management will be achieved through;
- Embodying elements of planning and park development which are environmentally sensitive. The operation of Parks in and near the Heritage Coastline and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is one of the most marketable assets the Company has, and the parks will be developed in ways which reflect and protect the surrounding area.
- Encouraging the Caravan Holiday Home Owners and Residents in hire accommodation and touring units to participate in all aspects of the environmental protection. The Company will actively seek out ways to enhance our environmental image through activities, services and products that promote good environmental management.
- Training at all levels to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements as well as improving customer care.
- Adopting best practice in waste management and recycling. The Company is committed to reducing water, energy and material consumption and waste generation, through the involvement of guests, management and staff alike.

All of our Parks offer recycling facilities for your waste, please help us to help the environment by separating your rubbish and disposing of it in the correct recycling bins.
David Bellamy Conservation Award

David Bellamy Gold Award for conservation -David Bellamy looks at virtually every aspect of park management - from the protection of plant and animal habitats to the efficient use of energy and recycling. Helping visitors to understand conservation is also considered an important qualifying feature.

Silver Green Tourism Business Scheme - Award winners will have made achievements across a wide range of areas from careful management of water, energy and waste to support for the local community and businesses.

Highlands End and Golden Cap Holiday Parks are Members of the 'Direct from Dorset' scheme which lets consumers buy Dorset products. By buying these products it can help maintain the countryside and shape its future. It supports local businesses, keeping money in the local economy and promoting local jobs. Travel around West Dorset

Walking - There are nearly 300 coast and countryside guided walks to choose from and numerous leisurely pub strolls. If you choose to walk some of the South west Coast Path you'll be rewarded with some breathtaking coastal views.
Cycling - West Dorset is tailor made for cycling too, with quiet country lanes and peaceful villages to explore. There are two National cycle Network routes to follow and these encapsulate rural West Dorset at its very best.
Bus - It's really easy to get around West Dorset by bus.
