About the Park

Our shop is stocked with everyday groceries, ice cream, gifts and beach goods, there is also an off licence and a range of caravan accessories. Information about walks is provided in our Tourist Information together with details of local attractions, Public Houses and Restaurants. Our Wildlife Lake is fenced off for safety but the many exotic species of ducks and geese can easily be seen going about their daily life.
Situated in the heart of Thomas Hardy country it is the ideal base for a holiday that both you and your family will enjoy. Close to the park you will find clean beaches, a leisure pool, country walks, wildlife parks, museums, historical monuments and plenty of country inns that welcome families. For the more active, there are facilities nearby for fishing, golf, horse-riding, sailing, windsurfing and scuba diving. The nearby villages are Moreton and Owermoigne.
Moreton is a small village with it's own train station and again has links to T.E. Lawrence. Highlights include St. Nicholas Church with it's beautiful etched glass windows and Moreton Gardens. Why not stop in at the tearooms
housed in the old school house or the Frampton Arms near to the train station? Tadnoll and Winfrith Heaths which are managed by Dorset Wildlife Trust are found just south of the village. The Jubilee Trail, Lawrence Trail and Lawrence Cycle Ride all pass through Moreton taking in the ford through the River Frome.the weather.
The village of Owermoigne is to south of the park and Ringstead Bay is about 4 miles away with access to the coastal path. A short distance away is Bovington which is mainly known for its tank army training base, but contains some of Purbeck’s most loved attractions including the Tank Museum with interactive displays, Monkey World and it's unique collection of primates and Clouds Hill, the home of Lawrence of Arabia. The Lawrence Trail starts at the Tank Museum and follows the story of T.E. Lawrence, taking in where he worked, lived, died and is buried.
