The Jurassic Coast

All 5 of our Parks are located within the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and on or near the UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coast. This World Heritage Status recognises the landscape and history of this coastline as having international importance and ranks it alongside the Great Barrier Reef and the Grand Canyon. The cliffs, coastal formations, beaches and fossils along the 95 mile stretch of coastline is essentially a walk through time, depicting 185 million years of the earth’s history across the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.
