MELPLASH SHOW - Thursday 21st August 2008 Melplash Show 2008 will combine the very best rural and agricultural attractions with spectacular entertainment, including a medieval jousting exhibition, the Fly Navy hot air balloon team and the Parachute Regiment’s legendary Red Devils. Regarded as the southwest’s premier agricultural show, Melplash Show 2008 will feature extensive equine, livestock, horticultural and craft competition classes. There will be a country pursuit area, over 300 trade stands and catering facilities solely supplying local produce. Main arena attractions will include show jumping, animal parades and a jousting, horsemanship and swordplay exhibition from Leicestershire’s Legends Medieval Entertainments. The world famous Red Devils will provide their spectacular freefall parachute display and the Fly Navy hot air balloon team from Yeovilton will present a public preview of their planned 2009 routine to celebrate the centenary of naval aviation. Show organisers believe that such a wide variety of entertainment will provide interest for everyone, as Chairman George Rendell explains: ‘Our aim is for whole families to have a good day out. We hope that the traditional agricultural show aspects combined with top-class main ring attractions will provide enjoyment for all – young and old, local people and visitors alike’. To encourage families to come and enjoy Melplash Show 2008, accompanied children under 15, one per adult, will be admitted free on production of a voucher obtained from www.melplashshow.co.uk or various local ticket outlets.
